Gas Prices

Stop. Just stop. If I have to explain to one more person how ridiculous it is to compare the price of gas in Europe to the price of gas in America, I am going to start screaming uncontrollably.

See the thing is, gas has always been that expensive in Europe. Their
economy is structured for expensive gas. They pay more for goods. They
drive less. They have higher wages. They have a working public transit
system. They shop locally.

The United States, not so much. So when the price of gas doubles in a couple of years, then no, we can't keep up. We can't afford to pay much more for goods. Our wages didn't increase. We have fewer local options. We've torn out our rail systems.

The two things are not comparable. So stop doing it.

I'm from the future.

My friend Matt and I came to the past as part of backpack though history tour. I ran out of money around 1998 and have been slumming it in the U.S since. But there's amusement to be had telling people how they're doing it wrong.

But what do I know? I'm just a tourist.

That’s right boys and girls, friends and neighbors, the domesticated banana, which has been cultivated, by humans, for just these qualities, is proof of the fallacy of evolution.

This is only a test. If this had been an actual emergency, FEMA would have screwed you over.
